Basketball Game Preview: Kofa Kings vs. Skyline Coyotes

Kofa hasn't had much luck against Skyline recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Kofa Kings will take on the Skyline Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Kofa's tournament run continued when they took on The Gregory School two weeks ago. Kofa lost 62-41 to The Gregory School.

Kofa's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Luis Negrete, who posted ten points and five rebounds, and Marco Navarro, who had ten points. Another player making a difference was Zayden Koivu, who put up six points.

Meanwhile, Skyline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 58-46 loss to Tolleson. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Wolverines are ranked 97th).

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Kofa, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Kofa took a serious blow against Skyline in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 90-42. Thankfully for Kofa, Dayton Harris (who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
