Recap: Clearview Clippers vs. Brooklyn Hurricanes

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Keystone, the Clearview Clippers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They secured a 65-61 W over Brooklyn. The victory was all the more spectacular given Clearview's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 721st, while Brooklyn is ranked 181st).

Clearview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jai Walton out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Walton has scored at least 25% of Clearview's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cy Christensen, who scored 11 points.

Clearview's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Brooklyn, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearview will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oberlin at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Oberlin is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Brooklyn will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Trinity at 6:15 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
