Cheshire Academy strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let the Hopkins Hilltoppers get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cats, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Will Margolies looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Chase Mendela was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Alex Modica was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Cheshire Academy pushed their record up to 14-0 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hopkins, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Cheshire Academy will head out on the road to square off against Canterbury School at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cats 1.9, the Saints 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hopkins, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenwich Country Day at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
