Baseball Recap: Lincoln-Way East Wins Going Away Against Downers Grove North

Lincoln-Way East had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Downers Grove North Trojans with a sharp 12-2 win.

Jack Bauer looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Lincoln-Way East got a massive performance out of Casey Mikrut, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Henry, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln-Way East will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Whitney Young at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Downers Grove North, they will square off against Oswego East at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th.
