Football Recap: Golden Valley Bulldogs vs. Mendota Aztecs
Golden Valley had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 25-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mendota Aztecs on Friday. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Aztecs 7-0 in the first quarter.
Alexander Hernandez threw for 63 yards and one touchdown. Cesar Vazques was his top target, picking up 70 receiving yards and one TD.
Mendota's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Perez, who rushed for 73 yards and one score on only eight carries. Anthony Trinidad was in the mix too, providing the Aztecs with two touchdowns.
