Basketball Game Preview: Camden Hills Windjammers vs. Oceanside Mariners

Camden Hills hasn't had much luck against Oceanside recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Camden Hills Windjammers will host the Oceanside Mariners at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Camden Hills was able to grind out a solid victory over Skowhegan, taking the game 41-29. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Windjammers.

Meanwhile, Oceanside had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They blew past the Hornets 61-39. The Mariners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Camden Hills better keep an eye on Aubrianna Hoose. She was instrumental in Oceanside's win, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. The game was Hoose's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Renee Ripley, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards.

Oceanside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Camden Hills has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Oceanside, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2.
