Baseball Recap: Tonasket's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Tonasket can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Omak Pioneers with a sharp 15-4 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 on April 8th.

Bradon Prock made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Prock was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base. Tonasket is 2-1 when Prock posts three or more hits, but 4-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Isaiah Spangler and Tanner Tompkins did most of the damage at the plate: Spangler got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Tompkins went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Tompkins has become a key player for Tonasket: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 4-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Colton Denny, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Tonasket always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-11. As for Omak, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tonasket beat the Pioneers by a score of 17-3 later that day.
