League recap: Roenbeck's hot bat leads Plattsburgh

Section 7 Champlain Valley I league recap: 5/21/12

Chris Roenbeck was on fire this week, as he led Section 7 Champlain Valley I with a .467 average, two home runs and nine RBIs. Meanwhile, Plattsburgh put together a 4-0 week.

The league's top pitcher this week was Saranac's Kasey Favreau. He won two games and struck out eight batters.

The Hornets, the season leader in runs scored at 113, added to their total with a league-high 41 runs this week. Plattsburgh's key hitters include Jack Tolosky, who has a team-high 18 runs, and Roenbeck, who leads the squad with with 26 RBIs.

The Hornets stole 15 bases this week, adding to their league-leading 41 steals on the year. Given the green light by manager Jim Manchester, Tolosky has racked up nine steals on his own this season for Plattsburgh.



The Hornets's Robbie Knowles led the league in strikeouts this week with 11. He's second in the league with 28 total strikeouts.

Roenbeck led the league with seven hits this week for Plattsburgh. He is fourth in the league with 17 hits this year, and has a .486 batting average.
