Softball Recap: Downey Takes a Loss

Downey fell victim to Gregori and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Gregori Jaguars, falling 19-0. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Jaguars from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Downey's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Gregori, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Downey will take on Modesto at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Modesto has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.85 runs per game on average), something Downey will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Gregori, they will face off against Turlock at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
