Basketball Recap: Pickett County Triumphs

Cookeville came into Saturday's contest looking for another win against Pickett County, but Jacob Amonett wouldn't allow it. The Pickett County Bobcats walked away with a 72-63 win over the Cookeville Cavaliers on Saturday thanks in part to Amonett, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 28 points and five assists. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Pickett County's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Cookeville, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Pickett County will challenge Clay County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cookeville, they will take on Hendersonville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Cookeville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
