Softball Preview: Bell County Bobcats vs. Barbourville Tigers

The Bell County Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Barbourville Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bell County knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with flashy run totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Barbourville likes a good challenge.

Bell County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Knox Central on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 11-10.

Meanwhile, Barbourville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They lost 11-2 to Jackson County.

Bell County's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Barbourville, their record is now 1-15.

Bell County beat Barbourville 11-7 in their previous matchup last Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bell County since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
