Baseball Recap: Concord Christian Takes a Loss

Concord Christian might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Parker who claimed the real prize. The Concord Christian Lions fell just short of the Parker Braves by a score of 6-5. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Robert Dowell and Jackson Stooksbury stepped up to the plate in a big way. Dowell scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Stooksbury went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That run was Dowell's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Micah Dewald, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Concord Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8-4. As for Parker, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Concord Christian will take on Paxon School For Advanced Studies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Paxon School For Advanced Studies' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five contests. As for Parker, they will square off against Ponte Vedra at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
