Resurrection Christian entered their tilt with Timnath on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Cubs. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Merick Fisbeck looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Resurrection Christian saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Busby, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave Busby a new career-high. Weston Johnson was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Resurrection Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timnath struck out 12 times.

Resurrection Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Timnath, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Resurrection Christian and Timnath should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 25th) will meet Liberty Common (ranked 139th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Timnath will square off against Northridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (115 vs. 240).
