The matchup between Newcastle and Elk City on Monday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Racers' defense stepped up to hand the Elks an 8-0 shutout. Considering Newcastle have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Elk City from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Hudson Stewart led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Newcastle has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those nine games. As for Elk City, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
