            Softball Recap: Verdugo Hills Dons vs. Arleta Mustangs        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Kennedy, Verdugo Hills was happy to have turned things around  on Wednesday. They never let the Arleta Mustangs get on the board and left with  a   12-0  win. The Dons haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive  victory against them.
 Madesyn Meadows was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out nine over 5.1 innings pitched. Meadows was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. That  triple marked the first that  she has  hit this season.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Julie Aguilar, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Emma Barba, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  RBI.
 Verdugo Hills was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .438. They are  a perfect 4-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Verdugo Hills'  win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-5-1. As for Arleta,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 9-10.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Verdugo Hills will  take on  rival Poly  at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Arleta is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Kennedy  at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday.
