Basketball Game Preview: Seabreeze Sandcrabs vs. Astronaut War Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Seabreeze Sandcrabs will head out on the road to face off against the Astronaut War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Seabreeze was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-38 to Pine Ridge. While the Sandcrabs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 13-8 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Seabreeze saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Michelle Ackley posted 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Ackley. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Bethea, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, Astronaut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Melbourne Central Catholic, falling 42-16. The War Eagles were down 42-12 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Astronaut's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Seabreeze, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Seabreeze against Astronaut in their previous meeting on Wednesday, as the squad secured a 49-13 victory. In that match, Seabreeze amassed a halftime lead of 32-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
