Highly-anticipated matchup discontinued with 6:16 remaining in second quarter after Long Island Lutheran jumped ahead 21-10.

The showdown between nationally-ranked high school basketball teams No. 4 Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, N.Y.) and No. 25 Roselle Catholic (Roselle, N.J.) came to an abrupt end Sunday afternoon after junior Tarik Watson collapsed on the court before being stretchered off.

According to eyewitness reports on social media, Watson was attended to by paramedics but no CPR or AED was required. The 6-foot-7 forward was seen moving his legs and talking to medical personnel and reportedly never stopped breathing.

Following a break in the action for Roselle Catholic head coach Dave Boff to talk to his players, the game was discontinued after the scary scene that left players, coaches and fans visibly shaken up.

No. 4 Long Island Lutheran was leading 21-10 with 6:16 remaining in the second quarter of the contest when the game was called off. The game is not expected to be continued or rescheduled at this time.

Roselle Catholic (10-4) is scheduled to return to the hardwood on Tuesday for a matchup against Peddie (Hightstown, N.J.).
