Catoctin entered their tilt with South Carroll on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 9-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Taylor Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Kassidy Kreitz was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Catoctin lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Catoctin's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for South Carroll, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.

Catoctin has already played their next match, an 18-1 victory against Clear Spring on the 22nd. As for South Carroll, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-10 win against Liberty on the 23rd.
