Softball Recap: Tri-County Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Tri-County extended their winning streak to six on Friday, bumping their season record up to 22-2 in the process. They put the hurt on the South Newton Rebels with a sharp 14-1 win. Considering the Cavaliers have won 17 matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Madilyn Nevitt made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Grace Luck was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Bella Dominguez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

As for South Newton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

On South Newton's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kimber Cruz, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tri-County beat the Rebels by a score of 17-4 on Monday.
