Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Grenada

Grenada extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 17-7. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cleveland Central Wolves a 2-0 shutout. The Chargers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.

The result came thanks to Mary Taylour Wilbourn's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grenada's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lillian Mattox, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Another was Olivia Lashley, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

As for Cleveland Central, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5. The matchup marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Cleveland Central's side, Taliyah Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

As of now, neither Grenada nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
