Baseball Recap: Peyton Has No Trouble Against Crowley County

Peyton barely beat Crowley County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Chargers 11-4 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won four in a row.

Noah Martin was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Peyton got a massive performance out of Nathaniel Hall, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Hall hit this season. Another player making a difference was Zayden Ebbert, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Peyton's record is now 11-1. As for Crowley County, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6.

Coming up, Peyton will face off against Colorado Springs Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Crowley County, they will square off against Rye at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
