Basketball Recap: Merkel Triumphs

Merkel proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 27) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 win over the Sweetwater Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Badgers have posted since November 19, 2024.

Merkel's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Sweetwater, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Merkel will be playing in front of their home fans against Grape Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sweetwater, they will face off against Clyde at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
