Softball Game Preview: Yarmouth Clippers vs. Gray-New Gloucester Patriots

The Yarmouth Clippers are taking a road trip to take on the Gray-New Gloucester Patriots at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Yarmouth is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Yarmouth came into this matchup off a tough six-run loss on May 5th. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Mt. Ararat by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday.

Drea Rideout was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Julia Brown was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Gray-New Gloucester was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They came up short against York, falling 12-2. The Patriots have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Yarmouth's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Gray-New Gloucester, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Everything went Yarmouth's way against Gray-New Gloucester in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as Yarmouth made off with a 20-13 victory. Do the Clippers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
