Bloomington won the last time they faced Centennial and Ky'Veon Chestnut did his part to make sure it happened again. The Purple Raiders breezed past the Chargers to the tune of 37-6 on Friday for which the team can thank Chestnut, who rushed for 146 yards and one TD while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 100.9 rushing yards per game.

With the win, Bloomington broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-3. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Bloomington will host Mascoutah at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Chestnut and Sean Murphy. As for Centennial, they will head out to challenge Oak Forest at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bengals' defense has only allowed 14.3 points per game this season, so the Chargers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
