Basketball Game Preview: Chino Valley Cougars vs. Odyssey Institute Minotaur

Chino Valley and Odyssey Institute are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. Both will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Friday, Chino Valley came up short against Kingman and fell 52-43. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Odyssey Institute took a blow against Parker on Friday, falling 50-23. The Minotaur have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Odyssey Institute's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Chino Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Chino Valley came up short against Odyssey Institute in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 41-29. Thankfully for Chino Valley, Nicole Castellanos (who went 14 of 18 en route to 32 points along with five steals and three blocks) won't be suiting up this time.
