Volleyball Recap: Fontana's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Fontana unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Great Oak Wolfpack by a score of 2-1. The Steelers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolfpack apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Donavan Bacon paced Fontana's offense, picking up 13 kills. Bacon got some help from Luis Gonzalez and his 24 assists. Finally, Jonathan Medina kept Fontana's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Fontana's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Great Oak, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Fontana wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Temescal Canyon on the 1st. As for Great Oak, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Rancho Verde on the 1st.
