Softball Recap: Lucas Cubs vs. South Central Trojans
Lucas extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-11 in the process. They fell 15-11 to the South Central Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-4 last Friday.
Ruby Conn was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Boquette, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.
As for South Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-15 record this season. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
On South Central's side, the team relied heavily on Zaida Myers, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those five hits gave Myers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayson Middaugh, who went 2-for-5 with four stolen bases and two runs.
Lucas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Central, they have already played their next game, a 13-6 loss against New London on the 16th.
