Malvern Prep faced Germantown Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Friars walked away with a 4-1 win over the Patriots. The victory was nothing new for the Friars as they're now sitting on ten straight.

Jack Herbein tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Malvern Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Capobianco, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. That hit was Capobianco's first of the season. Another was Chase Ecker, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Malvern Prep pushed their record up to 31-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Germantown Academy, they moved to 12-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Malvern Prep nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
