Elgin is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Pflugerville Connally. Meanwhile, East View entered their tilt with Pflugerville Connally on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Cougars. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by just one goal.

Joshuan Paredes and Cavan Gonzalez scored both of East View's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

East View pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those five contests. As for Elgin, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
