Softball Game Preview: West Jessamine Colts vs. Western Hills Wolverines

The West Jessamine Colts will challenge the Western Hills Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Jessamine will be strutting in after a victory while Western Hills will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, everything went West Jessamine's way against Paul Laurence Dunbar as West Jessamine made off with a 15-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Michaela Tate and Abigail Myszac made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Tate pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Myszac pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At bat, Tate scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Myszac scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Emerson Collins was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Addi Vahle, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

West Jessamine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Western Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Bryan Station, falling 8-0.
