Basketball Game Preview: Sheridan Blackhawks vs. Covenant Christian Warriors

The Sheridan Blackhawks will face off against the Covenant Christian Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Sheridan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups.

Sheridan is returning to their home court after beating Taylor on theirs, despite the fact Taylor has dominated at home this season. Sheridan breezed by Taylor to the tune of 68-34 on Friday. The Blackhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Covenant Christian's game on Wednesday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They secured a 64-58 W over Indianapolis Bishop Chatard.

Covenant Christian's win came from a few key players Sheridan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cason Soots, who went 5 for 10 en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Crane, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points along with five assists and five boards.

Covenant Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Sheridan, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
