Baseball Recap: Bath Wildcats vs. Shawnee Indians

It was a good run, but Bath unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shawnee Indians. Bath was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Shawnee apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Skyler Lhamon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.

On Shawnee's side, Lucas Price spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits. Price has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Derek Lyons, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and a stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Neth, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Bath now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Shawnee, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Bath has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Celina at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Celina is coming into the matchup with four straight victories on the road, so Bath will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
