Volleyball Recap: Cumberland Valley Eagles vs. Mechanicsburg Wildcats
Cumberland Valley lost against Mechanicsburg back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eagles came up short against the Wildcats, falling 3-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
While Cumberland Valley had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-21, 25-20.
Rylie Lena paced Cumberland Valley's offense, picking up eight kills. Lena got some help from Vivian Verber and her 16 assists. Finally, Lena was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.
Cumberland Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Mechanicsburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2-1 record this season.
Cumberland Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mechanicsburg, they will host Northern York at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
