Baseball Recap: Dilley Has No Trouble Against Leakey

While Dilley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Leakey Eagles on Monday as the Dilley Wolves made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Wolves have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Dilley got a big performance out of Elias Aguirre, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs Aguirre has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jesse Hernadez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Dilley's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Leakey, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

When Dilley and Leakey next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Dilley will square off against Poth and their six-game winning streak at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Leakey will try to stop Bandera's four-game winning streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
