Softball Recap: Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers vs. Allen East Mustangs
Waynesfield-Goshen gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 14-11 win over the Allen East Mustangs. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
Rayne Oakes and Teagan Kirian did most of the damage at the plate: Oakes went 3-for-6 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Kirian scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Abbi Brown, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Allen East are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waynesfield-Goshen will take on Upper Scioto Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Allen East, they are on the road again on Saturday to play Arlington at 11:00 a.m.
