Softball Game Preview: Marshalltown Bobcats vs. Lincoln Railsplitters

Marshalltown is 0-4 against Lincoln since May of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Bobcats are taking a road trip to take on the Railsplitters at 5:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Marshalltown is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Roosevelt, falling 9-0.

Meanwhile, Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-0 to Indianola.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Marshalltown, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Marshalltown couldn't quite get it done against Lincoln when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
