Gallia Academy has gone a perfect 7-0 against South Point recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Pointers at 5:30 p.m. Gallia Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Gallia Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Dawson-Bryant on Monday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Colbie Nida spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Gabby Champlin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, South Point's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 15-5 to Ironton.

Josie Kidd was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base.

South Point suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 9-4. As for Gallia Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Gallia Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like South Point struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Gallia Academy skirted past South Point 9-7 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
