Big Game from Medina As Cotulla Won 40-8

Starting off the list is Cotulla's Alex Medina, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Medina rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. Cotulla is undefeated when Medina posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Cotulla's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Medina's next game is against Young Men's Leadership Academy on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid performance.

Poth's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Stover and Poth will look to defend their home field on Friday against Natalia at 7:00 p.m.

Nixon-Smiley Gets a Boost from Gonzales in 21-19 Win

Garet Gonzales put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in October of 2023 on Friday. He rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

If the past is any indication, Gonzales could be in store for another big game when he takes on Dilley on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Gonzales saw the Wolves), he rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.

Nixon-Thompson Made His Presence Known in Karnes City's 47-14 Loss

Karnes City was sadly handed a loss on Friday, but Savion Nixon-Thompson did his best to prevent it. Dilley had no answer to Nixon-Thompson as he rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 137 yards and a touchdown on only 12 passes. Nixon-Thompson's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

For the year, Nixon-Thompson has thrown 8 touchdowns while averaging 114.1 passing yards per game.

Major Luna's Big Game Leads Poth over Stockdale

Major Luna's big game helped extend Poth's winning streak to seven on Friday. Nobody could stop Luna as he threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns while completing 79.2% of his passes.
