Softball Recap: Bishop Watterson Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Bishop Watterson's offense. They came up short against the Grove City Greyhounds on Wednesday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Bishop Watterson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clare Feehan, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Feehan is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Bishop Watterson and nudges their season record down to 6-12. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Grove City, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.

Coming up, Bishop Watterson is taking a road trip to square off against Olentangy Liberty at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grove City, they will welcome Teays Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
