Volleyball Recap: Brainerd Takes a Loss

Brainerd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Minnewaska Area Lakers.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-13.

Ruthie Owen paced Brainerd's offense, picking up three kills. Owen got some help from Bella Goggleye and her five assists. Goggleye was also a major player on defense: she and Allison Thomes shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Brainerd's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Minnewaska Area, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 19-0.

Brainerd has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Ada-Borup on the 4th. Minnewaska Area has also already played their next contest (against Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
