Volleyball Recap: West Lafayette Gets the Win

The West Lafayette Red Devils earned a 3-1 victory over the Tri-West Hendricks Bruins on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

West Lafayette had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-17.

Audrey Alexander paced West Lafayette's offense, picking up 25 kills. Alexander got some help from Addie Gehres and her 38 assists. Finally, Sophie Andrew kept West Lafayette's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

When it comes to explaining why Tri-West Hendricks lost, don't look at Finley Dakin. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs and four assists. Dakin has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played.

West Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Tri-West Hendricks, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-9.

West Lafayette didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against North Montgomery on the 25th. As for Tri-West Hendricks, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory on the 25th.
