Softball Recap: Stone Ridge Christian Wins Going Away Against Denair

The matchup between Stone Ridge Christian and Denair on Monday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Knights were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over the Coyotes. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won seven in a row.

Emma Quisenberry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Khloe Sphabmixay was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Rennah Friedman was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Stone Ridge Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Stone Ridge Christian's record is now 10-6. As for Denair, they moved to 12-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Stone Ridge Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-4 victory against Modesto Christian on the 7th. Denair does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
