Baseball Recap: Bloomfield Drops Highest Score of Season Against Glen Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bloomfield). They were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over the Glen Ridge Ridgers on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Bengals have posted against the Ridgers since April 24, 2019.

Noah Attas made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Attas was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brady Cole was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Jimenez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Bloomfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bloomfield's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for Glen Ridge, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will face off against Caldwell at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Glen Ridge, they will challenge Verona at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hillbillies' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Ridgers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
