Softball Preview: Carter Lions vs. Summit SkyHawks
Carter is 1-6 against Summit since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Lions will head out to face off against the SkyHawks at 3:45 p.m. The last three games Carter has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
While Carter's victory against Eisenhower wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 9-8. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by just one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Summit, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Kaiser by a score of 6-2 on Wednesday. The SkyHawks haven't had any issues with the Cats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jysel Guerrero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Alani Lopez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Arianna Munoz, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
