Saranac has gone 9-1 against Beekmantown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Saranac will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Saranac got the win against Northeastern Clinton by a conclusive 17-2. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Abby Owen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Owen was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Gagnier, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Liberty, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Saranac hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Beekmantown hadn't done well against Peru recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Nighthawks 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 10th.
Lillian Perry tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hailey Tripi was excellent, getting on base in four of her three plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Saranac pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Beekmantown, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Saranac has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Beekmantown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Saranac took their win against Beekmantown in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 13-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
