Basketball Game Preview: Centerville Elks vs. Dublin Coffman Shamrocks

The Centerville Elks will venture away from home to challenge the Dublin Coffman Shamrocks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Saturday, Centerville came up short against Springboro and fell 72-59. While losing is never fun, the Elks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Panthers are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Dublin Coffman waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Wildcats 57-40.

Dublin Coffman's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points over those games. As for Centerville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Centerville came up short against Dublin Coffman in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 58-50. Can Centerville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
