Baseball Game Preview: Nogales Apaches vs. Notre Dame Prep Saints

The Nogales Apaches will take on the Notre Dame Prep Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Nogales heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Monday. They fell just short of Centennial by a score of 2-0. The Apaches' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Nogales got a good showing from Rodrigo Olivares, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Olivares has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nogales saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ruben Celaya, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame Prep suffered their biggest loss since April 14th on Monday. They lost 13-4 to Canyon del Oro.

Notre Dame Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 14-16. As for Nogales, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9-1.
