On Wednesday Messalonskee's undefeated season almost came to an end. They skirted past the Oxford Hills Vikings 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Ty Bernier, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was his first of the season. Logan Baron was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Messalonskee's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Oxford Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Messalonskee will challenge rival Mt. Blue at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Oxford Hills is set to square off against their familiar foe Mt. Ararat at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
