Basketball Recap: Winthrop Comes Up Short

Winthrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Salem Witches, falling 61-27. The match marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Winthrop's record is now 1-8. As for Salem, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winthrop will venture away from home to square off against Peabody Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Peabody Veterans Memorial has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three games. As for Salem, they will head out to challenge Danvers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
