Recap: Dieterich Movin Maroons vs. Robinson Maroons
The Dieterich Movin Maroons lost against the Robinson Maroons back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Dieterich received a tough blow as they fell 54-36 to the Maroons. Dieterich has not had much luck with the Maroons recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Dieterich lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Miley Britton, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Britton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brittney Niemerg, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Robinson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marisa Zane, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. Zane continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Shea, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Dieterich's loss dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Robinson, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.
Dieterich will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Illinois (Neoga is ranked 278th, while the Movin Maroons are ranked 261st). As for Robinson, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
